Rechargeable vs Disposable Batteries: Upgrade Your Everyday Power

Date: 19/10/2026

“What else is possible?”
It’s a question that keeps us looking ahead at B yon.

Somewhere along the way, we grew accustomed to expecting less from the future. But what happens when we start asking more of the technology we use every day?

We carry powerful computers in our pockets, build entire worlds on gaming consoles and connect our homes from a screen. Yet somehow, buying batteries just to throw them away still feels normal.

We thought that deserved a rethink.

Meet B yon rechargeable AA and AAA batteries. Familiar format. A serious upgrade.

Ordinary was never the endgame for us.

We spent months developing something most people barely think about.

Because the battery inside your controller, remote or wireless mouse might be small, but it decides when everything stops.

Our mission? Make everyday power ridiculously cool and give it a reason to stay.

So we put the work into the battery itself: rechargeable power, USB-C convenience and a black-and-blue design that looks as considered as the tech it powers.

Yes. Even your batteries can have standards.

One battery. 1,000+ comebacks.

A disposable battery only gets one run.

B yon comes back for the next round. And the next. With 1,000+ recharge cycles, replacing batteries becomes recharging them.

That means fewer disposable packs on your shopping list and more use from the batteries you already own.

Your controller has another session in it. Your mouse has work to do. Your batteries should be ready for another round.

Single use had its moment. This is the upgrade. This is the future of power.

This is B yon.

USB-C. Because obviously.

Charging your batteries shouldn’t require another bulky piece of equipment taking up space in a drawer or on a desk.

That's why B yon batteries recharge through their built-in USB-C ports. Connect a suitable USB-C charging cable (like the one you use to charge your phone), recharge and get back to it.

The same connection that belongs in your everyday tech now belongs in your everyday power.

A small detail? Maybe.

Until you wonder why you ever did it any other way.

Built around the things you actually use.

Gaming controllers. Wireless keyboards. Mice. Kids’ toys. Portable lights. TV remotes, the list goes on…

The everyday essentials rarely get the futuristic treatment. We’re changing that.

B yon rechargeable AA and AAA batteries bring our obsession with better everyday tech into the devices you already reach for. Choose the correct size and check your device’s battery requirements. Then put the upgrade to work.

You don’t need an entirely new setup to make your everyday feel more advanced.

Sometimes, you just need to change what powers it.

Question the default.

We didn’t spend months developing a battery to make another forgettable item for the drawer.

We did it because ordinary things deserve extraordinary attention. Because convenience should be considered. Because something you use every day should give you more than one use.

That’s B yon.

Why the next generation of everyday power is rechargeable

Date: 17/09/2026

For decades, the AA and AAA battery has remained largely unchanged.

Use it. Replace it. Repeat.

Meanwhile, almost everything around it has moved forward.

The devices we use every day are increasingly rechargeable. Phones, headphones, watches, cameras and countless other technologies are designed around the idea that power should be restored, not discarded. Yet many of the smaller devices around us still rely on a power system built around replacement.

USB-C rechargeable batteries challenge that model.

At B yon we realised, by integrating rechargeable technology and USB-C charging into the familiar AA and AAA format, a battery no longer has to become waste simply because its energy has been depleted. It can be connected to a power source, recharged and put back to work. That’s what inspired the B yon Quantum Cells.

The change may seem small. The thinking behind it isn't.

Rechargeable batteries can be used hundreds or even thousands of times depending on their design, significantly reducing the number of single-use batteries required over their lifetime. Modern 1.5V lithium-ion rechargeable designs can also incorporate the electronics necessary to regulate their output while allowing charging technology to exist within the battery itself.

USB-C changes the experience further. Instead of requiring a dedicated battery charger, charging can become part of the same ecosystem already used by many of the devices around us. A cable, a compatible power source and the battery can be ready to go again.

Disposable batteries still have applications, particularly where extremely long storage periods or infrequent use matter. But for technology used repeatedly, the logic of constantly manufacturing, purchasing and disposing of the thing that provides its power is increasingly difficult to justify.

The future of the battery doesn't necessarily require changing its shape.

It requires changing what happens when it reaches empty.

Explore AA Quantum Cells

AA batteries power many of the devices we rely on every day, from game controllers and torches to toys and household technology. The B yon USB-C Rechargeable AA Battery delivers a regulated 1.5V output in the familiar AA format, allowing it to replace conventional batteries without changing the devices built around them.

Its built-in USB-C charging technology means the battery can be recharged directly and returned to use - again and again. With more than 1,000 recharge cycles, one battery can replace a long succession of disposable alternatives.

Same familiar shape. A far more intelligent way to power it.

Explore AAA Quantum Cells

AAA batteries may be smaller, but they power an enormous range of frequently used technology, including remote controls, wireless accessories, compact lights and personal devices.

The B yon USB-C Rechargeable AAA Battery brings rechargeable lithium-ion technology, a regulated 1.5V output and direct USB-C charging into this compact format. Once its energy is depleted, it does not need to be discarded. Simply recharge it, return it to the device and continue.

Because the next generation of everyday power should not be defined by how quickly it can be replaced, but by how many times it can return.

Recharge. Return. Go B yon.

B yon Everything

Date: 16/09/2026

The future does not arrive all at once.

It appears in small changes. A familiar object works differently. An everyday task becomes simpler. A piece of technology becomes more intuitive until the old way of doing things no longer makes sense.

At B yon, we believe the future is more exciting when we do not wait for it to arrive.

B yon exists to rethink the technology around us, push beyond what already exists and bring what comes next into the everyday.

That begins by looking again at the things people have stopped questioning.

Many of the technologies we use each day have become so familiar that their limitations are simply accepted. They work the way they have always worked. They look the way they have always looked. They are replaced in the same way they have always been replaced.

But familiar does not have to mean finished.

Progress often begins with a simple question:

What could this become?

It means examining ordinary technology with fresh eyes. Questioning what is expected. Rethinking what is possible. Finding more intelligent ways to move everyday life forward.

Sometimes innovation changes an entire category. Sometimes it changes one small interaction. Both matter.

From the way we power our devices to the technology we carry, use and rely on, our focus is on creating products that feel considered, intuitive and ready for what comes next. Not technology made complicated for the sake of appearing advanced.

Technology that makes sense. Technology that fits naturally into everyday life while quietly moving it forward.

We are not interested in the future as a distant idea.

We are interested in bringing it closer.

That means taking the technology people already understand and asking more from it. It means recognising that the next generation of an everyday product does not always need to look unfamiliar. Sometimes the greatest change is not what something is. It is what it can now do.

B yon is built around that possibility.

To go beyond what is expected.

Beyond what already exists.

Byon the way things have always been done.

The future is not only somewhere ahead of us.

It is something we can begin creating now.
